A great budget combo imho. Except, I have found that the PADDLE which clears the beans from below the burrs is BROKEN.

Thanks for your sharing. I own a Sunbeam EM0480 also. While waiting for 0.25mm shims arrival, I did my modification. I used a black PVC isolation tape to wrap the top burr which is the part lift out from the grind adjustment collar. Then I assembly all parts back. The result is quite good and got a finer coffee.

Grinding for the espresso machine at the #11 setting works perfectly with a nice, flavoursome, good crema coffee resulting. Grinding at the coarsest setting works well for the filter coffee - yes, as always with filter coffee, there's a bit of residue in the bottom of the cup when you've finished drinking but not actual grounds.

Cant really see the point to this mod to be honest. The steps are in the upper wider section of the collar, while the top burr engages in the narrower base of the collar via a thread. Even if you turn the collar 1/2 a notch, therefore not hearing a click, your top burr is still travelling due to being engaged in a separate screw thread. Chris

Motor is much quieter, but you will quickly discover the noise from the actually beans being ground is much loud than the motor. In one sense, easier to access the entire lower burr and sweeping arms and vacuum it out. But the EM0480 you could literally attach your vacuum to the spout and suck it out the other end.
