CGN3ACSMR

The CGN3, in the same environment will simply lock down in wifi connection rate to the slowest device on the network. So, if you have a really capable gaming laptop or pc and a single antenna phone running, the data connection rates, and therefore delivered data rates to all devices will only go as fast as the phone will allow.

Hitron CGN3ACSMR software v. 4.5.8.45

Starting a week ago, the internet would fail multiple times per day. After contacting Rogers tech support, they said that the modem / signal levels were fine. I went ahead and purchased a new Asus AX-11000, but the problem persisted. The router was reporting errors: "DHCP does not function correctly". I phoned Rogers tech support …

Solved: CODA-4582U

Rogers even came to the house to check and changed a CAT 5 cable. Another suggested to replace the modem, I did. Spent a lot of my time resetting it (never mind all the countless rebootings previously). Well the 2.4 Ghz keeps on dropping. Changed the channel from 1 to 6 to 11 as another suggestion by Rogers service. It still drops.

Solved: Hitron Wifi Range is Awful.

And to add to this discussion, here are some recent experiences. Consider if you want lower speed - watch the response from Rogers . Can I go to a lower speed - say 30 - you have to go to an old modem on 2.4 only (can't get 2.4 in my house because there are at least 23 modems in the same range) - I can use 5.0, but I can't get to the upper …

Re: How to disable SIP/ALG on Hitron CGN3

That's just it, though, are the vast majority of people using VoIP or other services enabled by SIP experiencing problems, and how many people would be adversely affected by losing the functions of the ALG if it was disabled by default? In my case, I initially had a one-way audio problem with Roger...

Hitron CGN3 User's Guide 3.1.10 Modulation Transmissions over the cable network are based on a strong, high frequency periodic waveform known as the "carrier wave.". This carrier wave is so called because it "carries" the data signal. The data signal itself is defined by variations in the carrier wave.

Re: No Ranging Response received

The CGN3 modems do not use an OFDM channel as they are not fitted with the hardware to use OFDM data transmission. The result of that is that the CGN3 modems use upstream DOCSIS 3.0 channels which run in the 5 to 42 Mhz range and DOCSIS 3.0 downstream channels in the 500 to 900 Mhz range, possible slightly higher. ... CODA-4582 and external Hard drive

I wouldn't say that's a guarantee however. To do what you want to do, place the modem in Bridge mode, connected to the Google router. Connect a gigabit switch to the Google router and then connect all of the extra devices to that switch. You should be able to access all of the hard drives thru the switch.

Solved: Technical reasons to move to the new CGN3ACR

Ok, now for a little technical info that might help. First and foremost the CGN3ACR has been accessed by using 192.168.100.1 when the modem is operating in Bridge mode. So, it is possible in that case to access the DOCSIS WAN signal level and signal to noise ratio data, which is useful for troub...

Technical reasons to move to the new CGN3ACR

The CGN3ACR will work on the Hybrid plans, and after reading through this post, some people may decide to go that route to solve some of the problems with the CGN3. The cost to rent the CGN3 under the Hybrid plan is $12.00. The cost to rent the CGN3ACR under the Hybrid plan is apparently $14.00.

Ignite Wifi Gateway (Arris XB6) vs. Old Hitron Gat...

Fwiw, just to get rid of the extraneous wifi SSIDs broadcast by the XB6, its worth switching back to the Hitron. In theory the modems are almost equal, the Hitron is a Gateway modem, the Arris is an EMTA Gateway modem, meaning that it has telephone capability. They are built off of the same Software Development Kit issued by Intel, just a ...

Re: usb storage on CGN3

Re: usb storage on CGN3. 02-11-2018 03:15 PM. The Hitron modems don't support USB3 flash drives. They do support USB2 drives. Intel has to issue a firmware update to support USB 3.0. It also looks like the modems don't support or recognize NTFS formated drives.

Trade Hitron CGN3 for Hitron CODA-4582

Changing the modem won't solve a cable or connector issue. Can you log into the modem, navigate to the DOCSIS WAN tab, copy the Downstream and Upstream table and paste that into a post. The copy and paste process will paste in the text contents of the tables. From there, we can tell if there is a signal issue.
